I am currently the director of the OHIO Center for Equity in Mathematics and Science (OCEMS) and an associate professor in the Patton College of Education at Ohio University. I have over 25 years of experience and expertise with issues of diversity, equity, and justice in teaching and teacher education, in PreK-8 education, teacher education, and mathematics education. I am a former K-8 public school teacher and have taught in culturally, linguistically, and economically diverse schools located in rural, suburban, and urban communities. I have been both a classroom teacher (grades 2, 4, 5, and 8) and a mathematics coach. I have been a university-based teacher educator at the University of Wisconsin-Madison (as a graduate student), the University of Arizona, and now at Ohio University as Director of OCEMS.
