As a highly-decorated professional developer, district math coordinator, math coach/specialist and classroom teacher, Kimberly Rimbey brings over 30 years of experience to the K-12 education field. With degrees from Arizona State University (Ph.D. in Mathematics Curriculum and Instruction; M.Ed. in Early Childhood Education), Northern Arizona University (M.Ed., Educational Leadership), and Grand Canyon University (B.S. in Elementary Education and Mathematics), it makes sense that Kim achieved National Board Certification (Early Adolescence Mathematics) and was awarded the Presidential Award for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching.
Kim's current venture as a small-business owner, KP Mathematics LLC, brings together her passion for supporting schools and districts transform mathematics teaching and learning; her love of teaching, coaching, and writing; her enthusiasm for professional development; and her desire to make a difference every single day. KP Mathematics is a teacher-founded, teacher-run company specializing in transforming math teaching and learning in the K-6 classroom, K-4 intervention, and K-12 special education settings. They believe that all children deserve access to the tools they need for solving problems in the world around them, and that supporting teachers and leaders is the primary avenue for empowering the next generation.
Kimberly presents at numerous national and local educational conferences. She is a past president of the Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics and serves on numerous curriculum and assessment committees throughout Arizona and the U.S. Kim continues to serve on the Board of Directors for Arizona Association of Teachers of Mathematics and for Arizona Mathematics Leaders.
Kim is a big fan of the outdoors and is an avid mountain biker and trail runner. She also enjoys traveling, cooking, and reading.
