Before beginning your submission, please acquaint yourself with the Final Submission Guidelines section of this document. If you are considering producing a CD, please read CD Development Guidelines section of this document. This information can help you present your materials in the most efficient way so as to avoid reformatting.
- Proposals-- A proposal consists of the following:
- A cover letter describing the audience for the planned publication, the purpose of the publication, and a projected length of the finished book
- A table of contents or a fairly detailed, annotated outline
- At least two sample chapters
- Manuscripts-- A manuscript should be accompanied by a cover letter describing the intended audience for the publication and its purpose.
- Electronic or audiovisual media-- Please submit nine copies.
- For electronic media, please send a disk or CD that shows the applets, support text, and any other features you plan to include, as well as information on the format and instructions for use. If such materials are not fully developed, supply a detailed description of your plans and of how the materials should be implemented in the classroom.
- The EMC expects to review copies of videotapes in VHS format. A professional master will be needed if the video is accepted.
- If submitting a proposal for a videotape, include all the same information you would for a manuscript, including a detailed outline or storyboard. Also indicate how you plan to produce the videotape and your funding sources. All funding is the responsibility of the originators. Videotapes need to be professional in quality of planning, design, and production. Note: No videotape is approved for distribution until a final version has been reviewed by the Educational Materials Committee.
- Posters-- Please submit nine copies if possible. In a proposal for a poster, reviewers will need to see the text and a rendition of the layout as well as a description of the poster's purpose and use.
