K-8 School Membership is designed to meet the needs of elementary and middle schools.NCTM is pleased to announce new benefits for its K-8 School Membership category. Designed to meet the specific needs of elementary and middle schools, NCTM’s newly revised K-8 School Membership now includes five Individual E-memberships, with additional E-memberships available for only $10 per individual.

K-School Membership cannot be purchased online. To purchase membership, please return application by mail or by fax to 703-476-2970. Membership can also be purchased by calling Customer Service at 800-235-7566.

For $135 a year, your school will receive one of the following journals in hardcopy format:

  • Teaching Children Mathematics (Pre-K–6)
    Addresses the teaching and learning of mathematics in grades pre-K–6. Features the latest developments in curricula and teaching and offers ready-to-use tips for the classroom. Published August through May with a December/January double-issue.

  • Mathematics Teaching in the Middle School (5–9)
    Features teaching concepts, issues, and practical ideas for the middle grades. Concentrates on technology in the classroom, assessment, and the use of mathematics in the world around us. Published August through May with a December/January double-issue.

    Additional subscriptions of either journal are available for only $32 each. Please note: Mathematics Teacher and the Journal for Research in Mathematics Education are available only through institutional memberships.

  • Reflections
    Reflections will provide the opportunity to view, analyze, and reflect on instructional practices in the teaching of mathematics through video examples. Questions will guide reflection and online discussion.

  • Illuminations
    Illuminations offers resources that illuminate the Principles and Standards, such as interactive applets that help students explore, learn, and apply mathematics; lesson plans; video vignettes of mathematics teaching and learning; categorized and reviewed mathematics Web resources; and more.

  • Figure This!
    Figure This! features mathematics challenges, hints, and solutions for middle-grades children and their families. Family support material includes information on the changes in mathematics education, ideas on how to help with homework, and more.

    Regional conferences are held several times a year throughout the U.S. and Canada. Like the Annual Meeting, they're designed to help educators meet the challenges of teaching mathematics in the twenty-first century. NCTM members receive a discount on registration.

  • Subscription to the NCTM News Bulletin
    This informative newsletter is published nine times a year and provides details on Council activities, reports on math education legislation, and articles from the NCTM President.

  • Discounts through the NCTM Catalog
    Take advantage of a 20% members-only discount on a wide variety of books, software, and other resources that cover mathematics education. Request a catalog by calling (800) 235-7566, or shop online.

K–8 school members may join for up to three years as a multi-year member. You can select this option on your application or renewal form.
